PKN is an international event with nearly 700 participating. Events give creative minds an informal forum to present their projects, ideas, and inspirations and provide a place to meet, network, and share a drink with a growing community of like minded people.
The founders of "PechaKucha Night" describe the event: "The idea behind PechaKucha is to keep presentations concise, the interest level up and to have many presenters sharing their ideas within the course of one night. Therefore the 20x20 PechaKucha format was created: each presenter is allowed a slideshow of 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each. This results in a total presentation time of 6 minutes 40 seconds on stage before the next presenter is up...Presenters (and much of the audience) are usually from the design, architecture, photography, art, and creative fields, but recently it has also stretched over to the business world." – Klein Dytham Architecture, founders of PechaKucha Night.
PechaKucha Nights bring together a diverse community of professionals as well as local businesses, non profits, entrepreneurs, students and more. The idea is to connect people from a variety of backgrounds and interests and expose everyone to the great things that are happening in our city.
